Take Configuration Files backup of Load balancer Netscaler 200 (VPX)

How to take Configuration backup of Load balancer

Before taking backup

You can see 4 servers

To take configuration backup use PUTTY

Click on open

Then provide Super admin credentials

Now we will delete some of the configuration from Load balancer

Click on YES and save and refresh all

Now two servers has been deleted

We need to restore it from our previous backup

To open LB in Browser to cross check

Now the entire configuration has restored from the backup file

This has worked successfully for local testing Load balancer express edition ) , but on Production the scenario was different so again tried for automated backup for production Load balancer and with below command got success in taking Backup .

@ECHO OFF

for /f %%a in (‘date /t’) do set XDate=%%a

Set Day=%XDate:~0,2%

pscp -r -p -pw <Password> <username>@LBIP:/nsconfig “c:\LB_backup\%Day%”

REM END

  1. Save the above code as batch file j
  2. Create a folder c:\LB_backup on any of windows server where you want to take the backup
  3. Download pscp.exe from http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html

It will create new folder on daily basis and download the configuration of Load balancer J
